Tribute to Ado Chale

Designer, poet, and “alchemist of mineralogy,” transformed semi-precious stones, bronze, and aluminium into timeless works of art.

Casa na Terra — a house in the ground, a masterpiece above time.

In the untouched Alentejo region of Portugal, this underground residence by for is more than architecture. It’s an invitation to slow down.

Knokke-Heist — Belgium’s Stylish Seaside

Villa Paquebot, one of the most evocative historic houses in Knokke-Heist, recently opened its doors to guests. The modernist villa was built in 1936 by Brussels architect Louis-Herman de Koninck. Owned by collector Hubert Bonnet, it is one of ten properties around the world available for rent under the Les Maisons CAB umbrella. Each house is decorated with pieces from his collections of contemporary art and vintage design. In addition to a swimming pool, Villa Paquebot offers private access to the Knokke golf course.

Kukas — The Beloved Yet Unknown Artist

At 96, Portuguese designer is still creating: transforming light, form, and everyday objects into timeless works of art. Her legacy spans jewelry, mirrors, vases, and lamps that embody geometry, clarity, and modernity.

Once an avant-garde voice during Portugal’s dictatorship, Kukas brought her country a vision of freedom and elegance, yet official recognition never came. Now, Casa Fortunato is changing that.
This year, they’ve reissued her very first lamp design from the 1960s, and continue to showcase her striking vases in projects and exhibitions worldwide. Each piece carries her unmistakable touch: fresh, clean, and eternally relevant.

In 1930, architect Louis-Herman De Koninck revolutionized kitchens with the first truly modern modular system: CUBEX. Nearly a century later, the brand returns with a bold new evolution: the CUBEX C10.
