The European Parliament adopted its first report on Moldova’s progress towards EU membership since it became a candidate to join in 2022. Moldova has shown exemplary commitment to advancing its progress towards EU membership. Parliament recognises that EU-Moldova relations have entered into a new phase.

📉 EU unemployment remains at historic lows.

Our latest figures show:

👉 the unemployment rate for 15-74 year-olds in the EU fell to 5.9% - its lowest rate since 2009
and
👉1.7 million new jobs were created across the EU economy in 2024.

Unemployment is expected to drop even further - expected to reach 5.7% by 2026.
