Built in 1991 by famed conductor Rudolf Werthen, Blue Tree Recording started as a tape-based studio mainly used for classical recordings by the likes of EMI and Deutsche Grammophon. Its huge, warm sounding live room still testifies to this past. Today, Blue Tree Recording is a multi-functional analog to digital recording facility, teaming up the great live room, microphone selection and vintage St
uder console with an elaborate Pro Tools 10 system and moveable acoustic baffling. Our team can easily adapt the already excellent acoustic environment to your needs and our digital processing and mastering capabilities can accomodate any genre and any type of recording. Surrounded by trees and gardens and with plenty of natural light, the big live room doesn't just sound great, it inspires. It is stocked with a Steinway Grand piano, various amps and drums and two heavy slate stone percussion stages. It was built from the ground up for warm, controllable resonance and professional gobo panels further control the room acoustics and separate instruments when needed. Whatever you want to create, our microphone selection - ranging from vintage Neumann and B&K condensers to typical go-to dynamic microphones - can capture it to taste. Overlooking the whole space is our control room, built up high in a glass alcove, giving producers and songwriters full overview of the recording space. Inside the control room, the Studer treats every microphone signal with lively vintage pre-amps, and full-range Genelecs, B&W 801s and Yamaha NS10M speakers provide for all monitoring needs. Despite its peaceful country-side surroundings, Blue Tree Recording is only 20 minutes away from downtown Gent. Ample parking space, a kitchen and a lounge are all available on-site and all heavy equipment can be lifted up into the studio by a heavy duty mechanical pulley system. Our team takes care of your practical needs, so you can focus fully on the sounds you want to create. After all, professional recording is carefree recording.
