This is honestly so sad to read, because this line-up was crazy. I truly believe that if you did this in Amsterdam, it would have sold out immediately.
Maybe Belgium just isn’t ready yet to fully embrace the beauty of progressive house. But I keep wondering… why?
Is it because it touches you in a different way than techno does?
Progressive house is about taking your time. Slowing things down. Letting the music build and guide you. It brings you into the now, slowly taking you towards that beautiful moment of release when everything finally comes together.
And maybe that’s exactly what I wish for everyone: slow things down, be present, and be open to music that makes you feel.
But despite all of this, I’m incredibly grateful that some of our biggest festivals in Belgium are giving me the opportunity to bring this sound to their stages. And every time I play it, I can feel that people connect with it. They dance, they let go, they get it — even if they didn’t know they needed it.
So maybe Belgium isn’t there yet… but I definitely feel like something is moving. And that gives me hope. 💭🍀
I just hope organisations, promoters and artists keep believing in this sound, keep pushing it and keep creating space for it.
One day, Belgium will be ready. Maybe we’re already getting there. ❤️
