Pearl Shim is my name. I was bôrn on 27 June 2008 in Warri, Delta State. I am of mixed heritage, with a South Korean father I never met and a Nigerian mother, Afor Franca Mugala, who came from Udu in Delta State. Losing my mother in 2019 was the hardest moment of my life.

I began acting as a child under Sôul Mate Studio and became known as Little Daniella. I have featured in movies like My Kids and I, Small Girl With Big God, and Hostage. Acting has given me a voice and a place to share stories that touch people’s hearts.

Even though I have not yet won awards, the love and encouragement from my fans feel like the greatest honour to me.

I will always be grateful for every persôn who has stood by me, because your love gives me courage to keep shining.

US lifts visa restrictions on Ghana, restores eligibility for five-year multiple-entry visas after deportee agreement. The United States has reversed its visa restrictions on Ghana after the West African country agreed to accept west Africans deported by the United States. Ghana's foreign minister made the announcement on Friday, September 26. “The US visa restrictions imposed on Ghana” have been “reversed”, Ghanaian Foreign Minister Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa announced Friday. In a post on X, Ablakwa said the “good news” was delivered by US officials on the sidelines of the United Nations General Assembly. The reversal was the result of “months of high-level diplomatic negotiations”, Ablakwa said. Earlier this month, amid President Donald Trump’s immigration crackdown, Ghanaian President John Mahama revealed that the country was accepting west Africans deported by the United States. US President Donald Trump has made so-called “third-country” deportations a hallmark of his anti-immigration crackdown, sending people to countries where they have no ties or family. Accra has insisted it has received nothing in return for taking in the deportees, though Mahama acknowledged that the deal was struck as relations were “tightening”, with Washington imposing tariffs as well as visa restrictions in recent months. In June, the United States announced restrictions on most visas for nationals from Cameroon, Ethiopia, Ghana and Nigeria, restricting them to three months and a single entry. “Ghanaians can now be eligible for five-year multiple entry visas and other enhanced consular privileges,” Ablakwa said on September 26. At least 14 west Africans have been sent to Ghana since the beginning of September, though neither Accra nor Washington has made details of the arrangement public.

When I started my acting career, it was not easy. I faced rejection after rejection, and there were times I wanted to give up. The financial struggles also made things harder, because in the beginning, the pay was very small. Sometimes there was no pay.

But those struggles taught me resilience. They tested my passion and forced me to prove just how badly I wanted this path. In the end, those early challenges built my strength and prepared me for bigger opportunities.

My first contract was only 5,000 Deutsch marks. For an 18-year-old, it felt big. But I did not rush to spend. I saved it because I knew my career was just starting.
