Nnamdi Kanu Turned Himself Into a Tyrant — Justice Omotosho The Federal High Court in Abuja has issued a scathing judgment detailing how Nnamdi Kanu’s broadcasts allegedly fuelled v+olence and d+struction across southern Nigeria. Justice James Omotosho said video recordings showed the IPOB leader urging followers to “amb¥sh,” “k+ll,” and “b¥rn down” security operatives and government facilities. In one broadcast, Kanu allegedly told a caller, “Use those g¥ns to k+ll one or two of the army officers. Take their g¥ns and begin to k+ll other people… Kill the Army whenever you see them.” The judge described the comments as “clear and direct.” He also cited Kanu’s 20 October 2020 EndSARS broadcast where he allegedly said: “That very hotel must be brought down… I want Lagos to be on fl+me… B¥rn down the Lagos airport… Every federal government property in Lagos will be b¥rnt.” The court noted that several facilities mentioned were later d+stroyed. A prosecution witness testified that 128 police officers, 37 soldiers and 10 other operatives were k+lled, while 164 police stations and many federal assets were razed. The judge said Kanu’s broadcasts “contributed significantly to the k+lling of security operatives and destruction of public property.” Justice Omotosho called the statements “barbaric,” adding that Kanu “turned himself into a tyrant who could take life any time he pleased. Such person cannot be allowed to remain in a safe society.” Kanu was convicted on count two under Section 16 of the T+rrorism Prevention Act, as the court ruled that his “sit-at-home” order — enforced with v+olence — amounted to a t+rrorist act. The judge stressed that only the President can restrict movement under Section 305 of the Constitution. The ruling linked the order to the k+lling of Ahmed Gulak, with a medical report confirming he d+ed from g¥nsh+ts fired by ESN operatives allegedly acting under Kanu’s directives. “The declaration of a sit-at-home without any constitutional power, accompanied by threats, is a t+rrorist act,” the court held, noting that Kanu offered no defence. He was also convicted on count one. Sentencing will follow.

Hand Nnamdi Kanu de@th sentence- Prosecution counsel tells judge as court to sentence him by 4.50pm The Federal Government has asked the Federal High Court in Abuja to impose the de@th penalty on Nnamdi Kanu, leader of the proscribed Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB), following his conviction on seven counts of terrorism. The Federal government through its counsel, Adegboyega Awomolo, made the call after Justice James Omotoso found Kanu guilty on all seven-count terrorism charges. Awomolo urged the court to impose the maximum penalty prescribed under the Terrorism Prevention (Amendment) Act, 2013. He reminded the court that the law mandates a de@th sentence for several of the offences Kanu was convicted of. “My Lord, consequent upon the conviction, nothing further remains but the lawful imposition of sentence. The punishment prescribed for the offences in Counts One, Two, Four, Five and Six, pursuant to Section 12H of the Terrorism Prevention Amendment Act 2013, is death. With all sense of humility, I say as a prosecutor that this court has no discretion in that regard. The only sentence Your Lordship can impose for Counts One, Two, Four, Five and Six is death, because the law empowers you to do so, and we expect that you will.” he said Justice Omotoso is expected to announce the sentencing decision by 4.50pm

We Don’t Have Anything like Christian G+nocide Happening in Benue State — Benue Governor, Reverend Hyacinth Alia The Governor of Benue State, Reverend Hyacinth Alia, has stated that there is no Christian g+nocide in the state. Speaking at a recent press briefing on Benue’s security situation, Governor Alia emphasized that his role as a religious leader does not conflict with his duties in government, saying, “I am a reverend father, so being in government does not take that away from me; I still remain one at the end of the day.” He clarified that, while the state faces security challenges, they should not be labeled as g+nocide. “In my state of Benue, we don’t have any religious, ethnic, racial, national, or state g+nocide,” Alia said. He urged referencing the United Nations’ definition of g+nocide when evaluating such claims to ensure accuracy. The governor explained that insecurity in Benue has historical roots, beginning with conflicts involving farmers and gradually escalating over the years. “Yes, we have lost a number of people, and we have provided background on the challenges that date back many years,” he added. He concluded by reiterating that Benue continues to experience security issues, but these do not amount to targeted g+nocide against any group. Alia emphasized the importance of measured analysis and sustained government intervention to protect communities and address the persistent security threats in the state.

Burna Boy asks for forgiveness after calling some of his fans póor

"I've noticed that people never highlight the good things I do in this world, but the moment they think I've messed up, it goes viral everywhere.

‎Suddenly, people who have never acknowledged my existence before are posting 'This is not cool' or writing long think pieces about me.

‎By the way, I was joking around with my band about something completely different, not this situation. As usual, it's been twisted into 'Burna Boy doesn't love his fans.'

‎I'm fighting my own battles. I don't come here looking for pity or help from anyone.

‎I love those who love me, and I respect those who respect me.

‎If I'm wrong about this, I sincerely apologise. I'm not always right, but in this case, I feel I am. At the end of the day, I'm just human."

Please, forgive him.

I never really sought the American passport. It wasn't a top priority for me. I came to the US long before many people understood what it meant. I didn't feel the need because the Nigerian passport never stood in my way.

I am not going to sit here and say I didn't face discrimination. At many airport counters, I have seen them turn up their nose. I have had my share of those challenging moments. But I always found a way to travel and see the world.

President Tinubu On X I am heartbroken by the abduction of our daughters in Kebbi and the painful loss of Brigadier General Musa Uba and the brave soldiers who fell in Borno. Their families, and the families of the kidnapped schoolgirls, are in my prayers. As the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces, I am depressed with the tragic death of our soldiers and officers on active duty. May God comfort the families of Brigadier General Musa Uba and other fallen heroes. I am also depressed that heartless terrorists have disrupted the education of innocent schoolgirls. I have directed the security agencies to act swiftly and bring the girls back to Kebbi State. I am fully apprised of the recent uptick in violent extremism in pockets across the country, and I have directed our security agencies to respond with urgency, clarity, and decisive action. Our forces need the full cooperation of every community. Sharing information can save lives and protect our children. May God comfort the bereaved families. Those who threaten the safety of our citizens will face the full weight of the Nigerian state.
