We have been van lifing on and off through the summer due to the intense heat in Turkey. The van has two maxx air fans and the best we can get with both of them on is 33 degrees Celsius close to the sea. It’s better to park under a tree if you can find one, which is slim to none in most cases.

The best thing we have enjoyed during our intermittent travels in Turkey is the people. They are simply said, very affable people and I love it. Shout out to (Emel, Alpata and Murat) for the blast we had together.

We are ready for our drive back to the UK for the winter, so lookout for the content coming soon.

Some times one gets tired of moving from place to place. Having left Antalya we travelled through the coast and settled in Fethiye (Karaot beach). It’s wild, peaceful and the neighbours are fantastic. This is day 5 and the day started with an early morning swim 🏊‍♀️, lunch , siesta and because it’s Friday, let the drinks begin.

We made it to the top of Assos and boy was it stunning. At first we thought that the temple was all that was there but we later discovered that their was a whole complex that led all the way to the harbour. We must have spent 3 hours discovering all the Ancient Greek ruins. Isn’t it amazing to think that people sat and were entertained in the theatre thousands of years ago and we also sat and entertained ourselves with a selfie 😊.

Having left Bozcaada island last evening, we arrived in Assos at 8pm and we were delighted to park up right away and stretch our feet. This afternoon we took a brief walk through the small village of Behram to see how the locals are living in their stone houses hence the images. The whole walk was not more than 45 mins in total. Tomorrow we shall be trekking to the top to view the ancient Assos site.

Today was an exciting day. Had lunch made for us by Ibrahim, then we trotted down to the old town centre to explore. Walked pretty much all the streets and ended up at Bozcaada castle. Nice views from the top. Video coming soon of the day’s experience.

We caught the ferry to Bozcaada Island this afternoon and the images are some of our first thoughts of the place. Most places are shut due to the season, but thats just the way we like it 😜. We havent yet figured out where we are parking for the night, but that will not be an issue compered to istanbul.

Tomorrow we shall start touring the island and checking out all the nooks and crannies for gems. Any suggestions are welcome.

A few days ago we decided to visit a Hamam called Nevmekan Selimiye that was converted into a library in Uskudar Istanbul. It was a fantastic place to have a coffee, tea and a read. Unfortunately the Hamam is not functional anymore, but the depiction is spot on.
