🌟 NEW BLOG BY GUEST WRITER, ALEJANDRO SALAZAR! 🌟

Alejandro, based in Sofia, Bulgaria, interviewed fellow Bulgarians new to working remotely over 2020-2021 as remote work became the norm due to the pandemic. What did he discover?

Have a read, let us know your thoughts, and we’d love to hear from those of you who made the shift in recent years too! What are your experiences of shifting into remote work in Bulgaria? Were you already working remotely full-time at the time? Thanks!

“There is no denying that the pandemic upended our convictions and beliefs. For many, how we spent our days and lives suddenly changed and well-established routines now required adaptation and more than a healthy dose of creativity.

For some lucky ones like digital nomads, the "new normal" didn't ask for a lot of magic. They are veterans of working from less traditional places like cafes, parks or couches.

For others, there is still a large group for whom the concept of working remotely was difficult to imagine before - until now!”

To anyone who has imagined working in Europe for a long period of time (and being able to travel freely across the region), there are increasing options for people who can work remotely.

In Europe, a wide number of countries already have schemes to attract digital nomads.

There are already schemes in Georgia, Croatia, the Czech Republic, Iceland, Germany, Norway, Portugal, Malta, Hungary and more recently, Romania and Spain!

One more EU country is about to launch a Digital Nomad scheme for employed freelancers looking to work remotely for six months or more.
