7 Things You Should Never Do to a Newborn

1. Never shake a baby.
Even gentle shaking can cause serious brain injury because a newborn’s neck muscles are still very weak.

2. Never put a baby to sleep on their tummy.
Always place your baby on their back to sleep to help reduce the risk of Sudden Infant déàth Syndrome (SIDS).

3. Never give water or solid foods.
Newborns only need breast milk or infant formula unless advised otherwise by a healthcare professional.

4. Never leave a newborn unattended on a bed or changing table.

5. Never overdress your baby.
