Shereen Shanika Dissanayake, Ambassador of the Democratic Socialist Republic of Sri Lanka to Bahrain, paid a courtesy visit to The Daily Tribune office in Mahooz. The Ambassador held a meeting with Mr. P Unnikrishnan, Chairman and Managing Director, along with members of The Daily Tribune Team.

In a celebration of Kerala’s vibrant culture and heritage, the online news portal 4PM Malayalam News brought the pulse of Kerala to Bahrain through an electrifying quiz competition, ‘Keralyeeyam 2024’.

Held at the McIndeez Auditorium in Mahooz, the event transformed a mundane weekend into a cultural festivity, uniting Bahrain’s Malayali expatriate community under one roof.

The event was more than just a test of wits - it was a tapestry woven with Kerala’s history, tradition, and identity. With 24 Kerala expatriate associations vying for the spotlight, the competition saw two contestants from each organization delve into rounds of intense intellectual combat. The contest culminated in a nail-biting finale, where six teams went head-to-head for the ultimate accolade.
Emerging victorious were Sreeja Bobby and Josie Thomas, representing Malayali Mums Middle East. Their journey to the top was marked by sharp intellect and quick wit. Securing the second spot were Muhammad Ali and Anish Mathew of Bahrain Pratibha’s B Team, while Bahrain Pratibha’s A Team, represented by Gio George and Sajitha Sathish, claimed third place, cementing the organization’s stronghold in the competition.

The event was masterfully steered by quizmaster Bonney Joseph, whose energetic moderation was complemented by the dedicated efforts of P.P. Suresh, Ajay P. Nair, and Viswanathan Bhaskaran. Together, they ensured a seamless flow of events, making the evening both entertaining and enlightening. Every participant left the stage with a token of appreciation - certificates, cash prizes, and vouchers -as a tribute to their efforts.

The prize distribution ceremony added a touch of prestige, with the honours bestowed by S**C (Strategic Publicity and Advertising Company W.L.L directors Latha Unnikrishnan and Boban Idiculla, CEO Adv. Abdul Jaleel Abdulla, and 4PM News Executive Editor Pradeep Puravankara. His Excellency Vinod K Jacob, Ambassador of India to the Kingdom of Bahrain,
officially inaugurated the ‘Study in India’ counselling meet. Held at the Ramee Grand Hotel in Seef, aimed to offer guidance on higher education opportunities in India, attracting hundreds of students and parents from Bahrain and India.

In his inaugural address, H.E. Ambassador Jacob highlighted the significance of
higher education and adapting to the latest market trends and study methods. His Excellency emphasized that Indian universities are committed to offering cutting- edge education, aligning with global standards. Insights shared by His Excellency resonated deeply with the participants, inspiring many to explore educational opportunities in India.

The two-day event, on November 15th and 16th from 10 AM to 8 PM, brought together 10 prestigious universities from Tamil Nadu, Bangalore, Pune, and Kerala in India. These include Christ University, Vellore Institute of Technology (VIT), Karunya Institute of Technology, Kumaraguru College of Technology, Indira Gandhi National Open University (IGNOU), Mahatma Gandhi University, and the Laurels Centre for Global Education. A total of 15 officials were present at the meet, providing personalized counselling to students and parents.

The opening ceremony was graced by notable figures, including Sanjoy Thapa,
Founder and Managing Director of SAPE, Dr. Varghese K. J. from Christ University, Dr. James Devaraj from VIT Vellore International Office, Karnataka Social Club President Anand Lobo, and Adv.
