The closing ceremony of the Entrepreneurship with Zero External Capital ( ) training program was held on August 27, 2025, marking a significant milestone for dozens of young people now equipped to launch their business projects without relying on external financing.

Organized with the support of , this ambitious program was implemented in collaboration with several national partners, including Paeej-Burundi and the NGO BIESO, who shared their approaches to entrepreneurial support along with concrete examples of successful projects on the ground.

The event also featured an institutional panel with representatives from the Women's Investment and Development Bank, .SM, and the Commercial Bank of Burundi ( ). These financial institutions presented their tailored products and services for young entrepreneurs, while emphasizing the importance of savings and financial inclusion as key pillars for sustaining entrepreneurial initiatives.

The Burundi Development Agency (ADB) also participated in the event to inform and guide young participants on the legal procedures for registering their businesses, a crucial step for accessing long-term support and funding opportunities.

The ceremony concluded with the official awarding of certificates of participation, symbolizing the commitment of these young people to embark on their entrepreneurial journey following the model ; a model based on creativity, community solidarity, and the strategic use of local resources.

The Izuba Cultural Center is inviting people to the first edition of IZUBAFEST, a vibrant cultural event happening on September 4th, 5th, and 6th, 2025, at it's venue in Rohero, Avenue Source du Nil No. 23, Bujumbura.

As part of the Burundian Création program, IZUBAFEST aims to professionalize and internationalize the Burundian creative and cultural industries. The festival will spotlight original artistic creations born from collaborative workshops between local artists and members of the Burundian diaspora.

Festival Highlights:
📅 September 4 – Fashion Showcase: Led by internationally renowned designer Mwete, featuring live performances by AMAGABA, Mona Walda, and the IZUBA Choir.
📅 September 5 – Dance Showcase: Directed by professional dancer Askiki, showcasing dynamic performances blending traditional, modern, and street dance by emerging Burundian talents.
📅 September 6 – Music Showcase & Grand Finale: Curated by international music producer Ekany, with powerful performances by Kirikou, Fernando, Milli Souls, and DJ Philbyte.

Le Vice-président de la République participe aux élections collinaires à Kizi

Le Vice-président de la République, Prosper Bazombanza, a pris part ce lundi 25 août 2025 aux élections des conseillers collinaires sur sa colline natale de Kizi, zone et commune Mwaro, province de Gitega. Une occasion pour lui de rappeler le rôle crucial de ces représentants locaux dans la cohésion et le développement communautaire.

Une étape clé après les scrutins nationaux

Dans son message, Prosper Bazombanza a souligné que ces élections s’inscrivent dans la continuité du processus électoral déjà engagé. Après l’élection des députés, des conseillers communaux et des sénateurs, « le tour est venu d’élire les cinq représentants collinaires qui auront pour mission d’assurer la cohésion communautaire, la sécurité et le développement local », a-t-il indiqué.

Parmi les six candidats en lice, seuls cinq seront retenus. Le Vice-président de la République a insisté sur l’esprit fraternel devant entourer le scrutin : « Ce n’est pas une compétition hostile. Tous vivent ici, connaissent les réalités de notre colline et méritent notre confiance. Celui qui ne sera pas élu restera un acteur important pour notre développement. »

Un appel à la participation citoyenne

Le Vice-Président de la République Prosper Bazombanza a également exhorté les habitants de la colline Kizi à se présenter massivement aux urnes avant 15h pour garantir une clôture sereine du vote. « Nous souhaitons élire des personnes disponibles, ancrées dans leur communauté et conscientes de la mission qui les attend », a-t-il martelé.

Le Président du Sénat, Gervais NDIRAKOBUCA, a accompli son devoir civique à l’ECofo Gihango, colline Kabondo, zone Ndora, commune Bukinanyana.

Dans son discours, il a souligné que cet acte constitue un honneur et une étape importante à travers l’élection des dirigeants proches de la population et capables de les conduire vers le développement.

Il a apporecié le comportement des candidats durant la période de campagne électorale, et les a appelés à accepter le verdict des urnes, tout en continuant à s’investir dans les projets de développement communautaire.

Le Président du Sénat a mis en garde les futurs élus aux postes de conseillers collinaires que les postes qu’ils briguent ne sont pas pour des privilèges personnels, mais des fonctions au service des citoyens, avec responsabilité, intégrité et respect des lois.

Le Président de la République, Évariste Ndayishimiye et son épouse Angeline Ndayishimiye viennent d’accomplir leur devoir civique en votant pour les conseillers collinaires de Musama, dans la zone Kabanga, commune Gitega.

Dans son allocution, après le vote, le Chef de l’État a souligné l’importance capitale de ces élections en indiquant que les conseillers collinaires sont les plus proches des citoyens.

il ajoute que ce sont ces derniers qui connaissent mieux les réalités quotidiennes, les défis et les préoccupations de la population
Alors que certains acteurs politiques semblent minimiser ou ignorer ce rendez-vous électoral, le Président a insisté sur son utilité. Pour lui, les conseillers collinaires organisent la vie locale et accompagnent les habitants dans la recherche des solutions à leurs problèmes.
