Mini-album: Ex Tenebris Surgunt Milites

Putridum Cadaver emerges from the shadows as a new force in Black Metal, formed by two prolific multi-instrumentalists: Judaa (Luxembourg) and Vera Brume (Sweden), known also for their collaborative work in Amphoterism and Experiment Death Patient. With Putridum Cadaver, the duo reaches a new apex of aggression and precision - this is their most violent and technically refined project to date.

Stylistically rooted in Pagan Black Metal, Putridum Cadaver crafts a soundscape of constant tension and bleak atmosphere. There is no room for cliché: no singalong choruses, no predictable riffs - only desolate emotional terrain and raw occult visions. Their music is cold and uncompromising, often bordering on madness, shifting rapidly between moods and tempos with surgical clarity.

Ex Tenebris Surgunt Milites is a mini-album composed of six unreleased tracks drawn from the recording sessions for their forthcoming debut full-length (title TBA). The lyrics span both Old English and Latin, grounding the music in ancestral and mystical thematics. This release will particularly resonate with fans of Watain, Mgła, Immortal, and Dark Funeral.

Highlights include the blistering opener “Beadowyrt Blōtesweord” and the rude “Æfterlēoma Beadoweorc”, which explode with dynamic ferocity. “Iron Rite of the Abyss” and “Exercitus Caeli Ruinae” stand out for their sharp guitar work and warlike ritualism, while “Wyrmban of Blood and Fire” marches with pounding cadence and menace. The finale, “Wælhræfn of Wōden’s Hǣð”, closes the EP on a relentless, breathless note - a sonic incantation of warfare and spiritual ruin.

Lyrically, Putridum Cadaver explores sacrificial rites, death worship, and the violence of forgotten empires. Their apocalyptic visions are vivid and steeped in ancient mysticism. These six tracks will appear as exclusive bonus material on the first CD edition of the upcoming debut, scheduled for release in January 2026.
