🚢Big news in the world of connectivity! Southern Cross, Alcatel Submarine Networks, and OMS Group have officially signed the SX Tasman Express (SX-TX) subsea supply contract! This state-of-the-art cable will link Sydney, Australia, and Auckland, New Zealand, unlocking faster, more resilient digital connections between the two nations.

Levelling up our protection capabilities, thanks to our partner FiberSense.

We are nearing completion of the deployment of the market leading proactive cable monitoring and protection service, DigitalMarine, with partner FiberSense. Nedonna, the first of our 3 US West Coast landings is now live after FiberSense successfully cutover the sensing service last week. We are now able to see seabed interactions, rogue vessels, exposure events, as they happen, allowing our operations staff to react in real time to potentially service affecting events.

We are looking forward to the remaining 2 landing being enabled in the next few weeks, providing superior visibility of external and environmental threats.

There is incredible work going on to protect and restore our environment. Fiji’s BULA Reef, an initiative led by Corals For Conservation and endorsed by the , demonstrates the positive impact sustainable tourism can have. BULA Reef is the largest rescue reef of its kind in history, made up of over a thousand heat-adapted “super corals”, taken from areas of extreme heat stress where the corals were in danger of dying. It not only protects marine biodiversity but also empowers local communities by creating jobs and enhancing their role as environmental stewards.
