The Bermuda Police Service have urged motorists to refrain from traveling towards the east end of the island this morning after a three vehicle collision on the Causeway blocked traffic in both directions.

Reports suggest that two of the three vehicles involved included a car and a water truck.

What does this mean for those flying into or out of Bermuda today?

Although no official statement has been provided by any airline servicing the island today, numerous flights appear to be delayed departing.

JetBlue Airways Flight 204 to Boston is delayed by two hours while American Airlines Flights 1117 and 1289 to Philadelphia and New York are delayed by three and one hour respectively.

At this time, no other flights have been delayed due to the road traffic collision or other factors.

The BPS have also confirmed that the eastbound lane of the Causeway is now reopened for through traffic while the remainder of the debris from the accident is cleared away.

Azores Airlines is to return to Bermuda in July, August and September due to work from travel agency, Trip.bm.

Luisa Gonçalves Da Ponte, an employee of Trip.bm, worked alongside the Azorean Government and Sata Azores Airlines to organize the flights at short notice.

There will be four round trip flights through July, August and September as well as another four flights across December and January.

Azores Airlines previously axed scheduled service to Bermuda from Ponta Delgada in January of this year, citing operational challenges and economic rationality. Other routes between the Azores and United States were also cancelled.

Ticket pricing for the flights begins at $1,950 for a return ticket and $1,200 for one way. Ms Gonçalves Da Ponte shared her hopes that the pricing would drop to $1,600 round-trip in the coming years.

The return of the service reinstates the second direct connection between Bermuda and Europe, on top of existing service from British Airways to London.

The first flight will arrive on the island on July 27th.

BermudAir has announced that they will be operating direct services to Anguilla from two key US cities this winter.

The new services are set to begin this December from Boston and Baltimore directly to Anguilla, with service from Baltimore starting on December 19th and service from Boston starting on December 20th.

The flights will be operated by BermudAir’s Embraer E190 aircraft.

“This is more than a new route—it’s a reflection of what BermudAir was built to do: strengthen island connections, deliver extraordinary service, and create lasting economic value for Bermuda and beyond,” said Adam Scott, Founder and CEO of BermudAir. “We’re proud that, because
of the support of Bermudians and the growth in tourism demand, we are now able to extend our reach and share our island hospitality with Anguilla.”

Hon. Jose Vanterpool, Anguilla’s Minister of Infrastructure, remarked, “The reopening of the Clayton J. Lloyd International Airport marks a pivotal moment for Anguilla’s economic future. Our agreement with BermudAir to launch nonstop service from the U.S. Northeast is a crucial first
step. To support long-term, sustainable growth, we are pursuing a phased, demand-driven expansion plan, which includes extending the runway to accommodate larger aircraft and
increased passenger and cargo volumes.”

Anguilla’s Minister of Tourism, Hon. Cardigan Connor added, “BermudAir’s new direct flights from key U.S. markets – Boston and Baltimore - constitute a significant advancement for our tourism industry. As our accommodation offerings grow, reliable and convenient air access from
these strategic gateways is essential to maintaining momentum and further developing Anguilla as a premier destination”.

A BermudAir spokeswoman explained that “AnguillAir is the first step in BermudAir’s long-term growth strategy to expand regionally and innovate within the Caribbean aviation landscape and beyond.”

The latest addition to the BermudAir fleet has arrived on the island today.

“The arrival of our fourth aircraft represents more than just expansion—it’s about
strengthening the backbone of our operations,” said Adam Scott, Founder and CEO of BermudAir. “With this E190, we’re building in the resiliency and flexibility needed to deliver the high reliability and comfort our passengers expect. We’re also proud to once
again work with Azorra and to recognise XBTO, one of our earliest and most valued
partners.”

Named “XBTO,” the aircraft pays tribute to XBTO Group, a global digital asset and financial services firm with strong ties to Bermuda. XBTO has been a key supporter of BermudAir since its inception, sharing in the airline’s vision of elevating Bermuda’s global
connectivity and economic reach.

“We’re honoured to see the XBTO name take flight,” said Philippe Bekhazi, CEO of XBTO.
“This aircraft reflects our belief in Bermuda’s future and in strategic partnerships that
drive long-term impact. BermudAir embodies that spirit, and we’re proud to support their
continued growth.”

With the aircraft entering service in the coming weeks, BermudAir is poised to deliver
enhanced operational reliability while continuing to provide its signature boutique flying experience. This latest milestone strengthens the airline’s ability to serve Bermuda and its visitors with greater confidence, frequency, and comfort.
