We are incredibly proud to share that Kayson Tong Wei Ren and Aiden Tong Wei Lun have both achieved Distinction in their Grade 2 ABRSM Piano Performance Exam! Using the 2023-2024 ABRSM syllabus, they displayed exceptional musicianship, technical control, and expressive playing that impressed the examiners.

Their dedication and hard work truly paid off, and this achievement is a testament to their passion for music. Well done, Kayson and Aiden—keep reaching for new musical heights! 🎼👏🎵

For the 2024 BYMC, our student Aaron Chong performed Liebestraum S. 541 No. 3 in A♭ Major by Frans Lizst. The piece is technically and emotionally challenging, requiring advanced pianistic skills such as delicate voicing, smooth arpeggios, and dynamic control to convey its romantic and expressive nature.

Aaron's unwavering dedication and countless hours of meticulous practice shone brightly in his performance, captivating the audience with his extraordinary artistry and heartfelt commitment to mastering such a demanding piece. His remarkable growth as a pianist is a testament to his passion and perseverance, and we eagerly anticipate witnessing his continued accomplishments on this inspiring musical journey!

For the 2024 BYMC, our student Jaydon Wee performed Frédéric Chopin's Fantaisie-Impromptu in C♯ minor, Op. posth. 66, WN 46. The piece is rather well-known for its technical difficulty and we are proud Jaydon welcomed the challenge and chose this as his piece for the concert.

Jaydon's dedication and countless hours of practice were evident in his performance, captivating the audience with his artistry and commitment to mastering such a challenging piece. We are incredibly proud to see his growth as a pianist and look forward to his future accomplishments!"

On the 29th of June 2024, our two music teachers, Iqhwan Caesar and Md Sukri performed for the wedding of Siti Syazwana and her Husband. Our teachers performed a variety of songs requested by the bride and groom and we are delighted that our clients enjoyed their performances.

A nice surprise is that Aziz Harun is the brother of the bride -- a songwriter and actor from Brunei who gained popularity in both Brunei and Malaysia. He also performed for the wedding with his band and we are pleased to have the opportunity to share the night with him.

The whole experience was enjoyable for our teachers at JMS and hope that there are many more events as such to come in the near future.

Our school played with the orchestra for his Majesty Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah Mui'zzaddin Waddaulah ibni Al-Marhum Sultan Haji Omar Ali Saifuddien Sa'adul Khairi Waddien 78th birthday on the 15th July 2024 at Istana Nurul Iman.

Our school took part in performing for His Majesty Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah Mui'zzaddin Waddaulah ibni Al-Marhum Sultan Haji Omar Ali Saifuddien Sa'adul Khairi Waddien 78th birthday on the 15th July 2024.

We are thankful for being invited to play with RTB, The Royal Brunei Police and the Royal Brunei Armed Forces musicians at the Royal Palace. It was a wonderful experience for us all and we hope to participate in future events.

During our 2023 recital, our school collaborated with the Asia Ballet Academy for a combined performance where our own student Natalie accompanied them with a Piano Piece "Arabesque" by Claude Debussy.

The music played with grace and excellence while the ballerinas danced to it, demonstrating a breathtaking display of athleticism and artistry that captivates the audience with its beauty and emotion. The entire performance was magnificent and both Natalie and the students of the Asia Ballet Academy did an outstanding job on that night.

From our recent recital in 2023, our flute teacher Iqhwan Caesar and violin teacher Md Sukry accompanied by our student Amiira Aminuddin performing "Secret Garden".

Our flute teacher has been teaching both piano and flute in JMS since 2017 and we are happy to say that our students have always been satisfied with his guidance and tutelage. He approaches his lessons by ensuring that each student's strengths and flaws are tackled which allows his students to comfortably grow and progress with time.

On the 12th August 2023, Jasmin Music Studio held a musical recital at Polo club, Jerudong. The guest of honor during the event was Yang Mulia Major General (R) Dato Paduka Seri Haji Aminuddin Ihsan bin POKSM Dato Seri Paduka Hj Abidin.

The event portrayed our students of different ages and of different levels performing for everyone after many months of hard-work practicing leading up to the night. We are more than happy to say that everyone performed admirably.

Also during the recital, as is tradition, our students collected their ABRSM Theory and/or Practical results. While the event was to give our students the experience and exposure of performing in front of an audience, our school ultimately prioritizes at achieving excellent results in the exams. We always do our best at guiding our students under the ABRSM syllabus.

Our students gather around for our traditional photo taking where they displace the certificates they received from their recent Practical or Theory examinations from the ABRSM.

As usual we are pleased with the results that they achieved in the exams and was a huge relief for the teachers, students and parents who took the time to send their children for any extra classes and trial exams they had to sit for.

Congratulations as well to one of our student, Maya, for scoring full marks in her Grade 1 Theory exam. Our school always prioritizes achieving excellent results in their examinations and we aim to continue obtaining theses results.
