Until the Bolivian Law 348 against the abuse and violence toward women was created in 2013 there were no laws to protect women in Bolivia and the culture of machismo and abuse continued to escalate to horrendous levels where even on cctv in parliament, a couple of MP's were caught ra**ng a female MP who had passed out, intoxicated after a government party. This page was created in order to explore
Law 348 as it applies to current socio political realities of women's lives in Bolivia. My love for Bolivia is strong and I would love to see a shift in the power imbalance that favours respect and freedom for women from all forms of abuse and supports their endeavours to enjoy life and thrive creatively, financially and personally. My hope is that this page will serve to trigger ideas, spread information, connect people who within Bolivia can create change. Also, with the support and awareness from the international community that in whatever ways possible we can promote and encourage this movement toward peace for women. This page is not affiliated with any political party.
