Look at our beautiful new driveway. No more mud or getting stuck in front of our cottages after all the rain we had. We are super stoked how it turned out. Thank you Derek contractors.

If you are wondering about the poor beautiful tangelo tree that had to make way for the wider drive, it found a new home a few meters away. Help us pray to the orange gods that it will settle into its new spot 😅🙏

Thank you everyone for thinking of us and your concern regarding cyclone Gabrielle. We are fine. Kerikeri and Relax a Lodge has been fortunate and was mostly spared by the impact. We just have a few broken branches and the sun is shining again today.

It's been some exciting weeks. We have new Kune Kune piglets which are only 7 weeks old and we had our first European guests since Covid. A french couple who came to see their first grandchild for the first time and a German backpacker! We are very excited to welcome all you travellers from all over the world back at Relax a Lodge!

We received a surprise package today from a lovely family who has been guests at our Lodge for many years but had to unfortunately cancel their stay over Christmas this year. We are feeling very warm inside and can’t wait to try all these Russian treats. We hope your Christmas season is filled with peace, joy and happiness. Merry Christmas to all our friends all over the world! 🎄🎅

We had some heavy machinery fixing our driveway. Thank you Derek from Coastal Contractors Ltd, the driveway looks beautiful again. Also we had to say goodbye to our visiting sheep and the promised pictures of our beautiful new gum floors.

Haven't posted in a while so here is what we are up to...
Not many guests so we figure we use the opportunity to beautify the main house with new hard wood floors. These are the before pictures. After pictures will follow. Also we had 7 new guests check in this weekend... see photo. We hope you are all staying positive out there and we hope to see you all soon again at Relax a Lodge!

So we had a visitor today. This lady dropped in to gift Claes a copy of her own book. She wrote about her adventures walking the Te Araroa trail. She stayed with us back in 2016 and dropped of her book as a thank you. Claes and Relax a Lodge is even mentioned in the book! How amazing! Thank you Michelle 😃!

Our new and beautiful FishMore Cottage is open for guest from today on. After a few (a lot) of setbacks we are proud of the result. Free standing tub with mood lighting, tv in lounge and bedroom, wine rack and cape cod chairs... who could ask for more?!?

Things are starting to take shape. The cottage got 4 windows and a sliding door. The woodshed is staring to look very finished as well.

Our windows finally arrived today. Busy little cottage, painting, varnishing, insulating and windowing. And our other project is in full swing as well. Reggie is turning our ugly shed into a beautiful shed.
