traveling by road in Northern Nigeria or visiting Iraq and Iran. One theme throughout his work is cultural appreciation. There is very little travel content produced for Western audiences in these less-visited countries, and Chris wants to show that there is a lot to see and do. It might not be iconic landmarks like in Europe, but Chris likes to showcase the culture, food, and everyday life in these places in a way that makes them interesting and encourages others to travel off the beaten path while immersing themselves in the local culture. Chris's travel journey started back in 2013 when he went on a solo backpacking trip through Central America from Panama to El Salvador. This showed him that it was really possible to just pack up a few things, jump on a plane, and figure everything out on the fly while getting totally immersed in the culture. As Chris traveled more his goals grew eventually leading to his goal to visit every country in the world. He is currently at 155 countries meaning he has less than 50 left. These are the Houtman Abrolhos Islands in Western Australia

Most known for the bloody mutiny among the sailors on the Batavia, a Dutch ship bound for modern day Jakarta.

After the accidental wreck on the reefs, Jeronimus Cornelisz was placed in charge while the captain left in a rescue ship for help. Cornelisz and his men murdered more than half of the survivors including men, women, and infants. The details are too brutal for this platform but you can read more about it online. They planned the mutiny for months to steal the ships treasure which was meant for trade in the Indonesian colony.

It is the bloodiest mutiny in naval history, but despite this dark past, the islands are incredibly beautiful.

The only way to visit presently is via day trip on an airplane or on a multiple day cruise.

It is definitely one of the most unique things you can do in Western Australia.

I traveled to the world’s most isolated city

Perth metro area has a population of 2.4M and the next closest city with over 2M is Jakarta in Indonesia and then Sydney on the other side of the Australian continent.

But despite the distance, Perth is worth the trip! In my opinion, the city rivals places like Cape Town and Vancouver in unreal beauty.

To get here, I flew on and with deals from Kuala Lumpur, Perth is excellent addition to any Southeast Asia trip.

We visited the Maldives of Malaysia and it only cost a fraction of the price!

This is Semporna where we stayed at completely surrounded by the sea in small villas on stilts raised above the water.

It was such a great experience and I can’t recommend it enough!

Also ask them to arrange a special visit to meet some of the Bajau Laut people that call this area home. It’s not a typical tour offered by any of the operators there but we designed it specially with the resort and it was an extremely memorable experience for us both. Such kind and beautiful people.

Ghana’s has a new eVisa system. While convenient to do online, people are most surprised at the expensive price tag.

$260 for a single entry visa that normally cost $50-$60 at an embassy

To me it seems like you’re paying extra for the convenience. If you’re traveling to Ghana last minute or live in a country without a Ghana embassy, this is going to be extremely helpful.

If you have time and access to an embassy, it makes much more sense to apply there as the visa fee is going to be a lot lower. This is especially true for longer and multiple entry visas.

We enjoyed our stay at in Semporna!

If you’re looking for Maldives without the price tag, definitely check out Sabah State in Malaysia. The resort we stayed at is entirely located on the water and requires a boat to get there (which is included with the stay).

It is such a beautiful and relaxing location surrounded by the sea. We enjoyed snorkeling, kayaking, and spending some quality time together.

The food was also great and all inclusive with the stay. Avg price is $150-$175 USD per person per night but they occasionally run promotions and give discounts for longer stays of three nights or more.
