BREAKING NEWS - CAUÊ LAUNCHES A NEW LABEL 🥳🥳🥳🥳
In the past few weeks, newborn labels have rained on the hypnotic techno ground, indicators of a high season of love at the start of this new year.
In the hypnotic nursery, Ogan Records just reared its cute techno head under the shining eyes of its young daddy, the one & only Cauê.
Well-known in our community, Cauê is a talented and very humble atmospheric techno artist hailing from São Paulo in Brazil. With releases on top labels of the genre, including Affin, Kvltö Records, Lotus Parable, Circular Limited and Space Textures, he's affectionately called "Master Of The Wind" by our people. Joachim Spieth also had shining eyes when he signed Cauê in 2021, whose well-designed atmospheres made him become one of Affin's spearheads.
Following his journey into the sound, atop his technical and artistic experience, Cauê feels now ready to have his own imprint, Øgan, where he will release some of his works and later have his first guest artists.
The label is deeply conceptualised: if the Ukrainian artist's name "Svarog" etymologically evokes a separation between Earth and Heaven in the Slavic world, the word "Øgan", on the contrary, suggests the reunion of both in the Yoruba culture, as the "Ogã", a sort of priest, is responsible for connecting the physical and spiritual realms…
The Yoruba people are a West African ethnic group, known for their early urban civilisation, and inspiring for being particularly skilled and productive. As for the link with Cauê: if you are good at geography, you probably noticed that West Africa faces Brazilia, which integrated the Yoruba religion in the 19th century among its rich spiritual practices. The label will encompass the spiritual dimension, through the deep, intuitive and trance-inducing atmospheres, and the tribal dimension, through the danceable rhythms and grooves.
Get lost in the evocative atmospheres of Cauê's first release on Øgan, which just came out yesterday: an EP with a very symbolic name: "Àtúnwá", meaning "Reincarnation" in the Yoruba language…
