This week I decided to bring some ideas for using games in the classroom.
This post is about some considerations we should take on account when including games in our lessons:
☑️Games need to be carefully selected or designed to make sure they are both "gamey" and learning-rich;
☑️Try to avoid games that have a lot of stages and are time consuming to explain . Remember that time taken to explain or distribute and collect materials is time taken away from the game itself.
☑️Games should have all, or most of the students actively playing them. Games that involve few students, not only lead to less learning, but also tend to be less interesting and fun.
☑️Try to avoid games for which you have to prepare lots of bits of paper or card; unless, you're sure you'll use them repeatedly in the future.
Do you consider those factors when planning a game?
