HOUSING MINISTRY: NO CONTRACTS AWARDED TO LATE WARREN ELLIS

The Ministry of Housing and Land Reform says a review of its contracting records found no evidence that the late Warren Ellis was awarded a government housing contract since the Davis Administration took office.

The Ministry says it also found no record of contracts being awarded to any company identified in its records as owned or controlled by Ellis.

The review followed recent public questions surrounding Ellis and his alleged involvement in the government’s housing programme.

GRAND BAHAMA: DOG ATTACK

On Saturday, 5th September, 2026, police launched an investigation into a reported ferocious dog attack that occurred at Susan J. Wallace Park (formerly called Columbus Park), which left an 11-year-old juvenile male hospitalised.

According to the initial report, shortly before 8:00 p.m., the mother of the juvenile reported to Central Police Station that her son was attacked and bitten by a dog while playing at the park shortly before 6:00 p.m. The juvenile male sought medical attention at the Rand Memorial Hospital, accompanied by his mother. However, his condition is currently unknown.

Police made checks of the area where the incident reportedly occurred but were unable to locate the dog or anyone claiming ownership of it.

Officers assigned to Central Division and the Canine Unit are continuing their investigation into this matter.

The investigation continues.
