After 10 years of living aboard and cruising C-Shel II through Florida, the Bahamas, and beyond, we are finally giving you a full walkthrough of our 1991 Tollycraft 44 Cockpit Motor Yacht.

C-Shel II is a two-stateroom, two-head liveaboard cruiser with an aft deck, cockpit, flybridge, wide side decks, solar, lithium batteries, inverter, water maker, dinghy, and twin Caterpillar 3208TA diesel engines.

She has been set up for real cruising, especially for Florida and the Bahamas, with 1,200 watts of solar, roughly 920Ah of lithium battery capacity, a 40 GPH Sea Water Pro water maker, an Onan 8kW generator, a 2022 Highfield CL340 GT dinghy with a 20HP Tohatsu, and extensive maintenance records from our ownership.

This is not a new boat, and we are honest in the video about that. She is a 1991 cruising boat with normal boat projects, she has been loved, upgraded, used, documented, and prepared for the kind of cruising we have done for the last decade.

C-Shel II is currently for sale. We are now back in the Stuart, Florida area, where she is easier for serious buyers to view.

The lines were slipped, the light was golden, and more new friends pointed the bow toward the blue.

Staying longer term in one place like Grand Bahama makes you realize it isn’t only about the place. It’s about the people who make the stay meaningful.

This is part of why we built the C-Shel Yacht Management System. Boats are more than systems to maintain. They are the platform for the friendships, passages, and memories that make the whole dream worth protecting. (Link in the comments)

Fair winds, friends. Until next time.

⚓ Grand Bahama Yacht Club
Tucked into Bell Channel in Freeport, this marina sits inside a protected canal system. Easy access to Port Lucaya, solid hurricane protection, and a central location if you are staging for crossings or spending time on the island. Wonderful grounds, Customs & Immigration on-site, and the pizza at Pisces is great.

⚓ Ocean Reef Yacht Club & Resort
A little more west. Quieter, resort feel, and another strong jumping-off point for a Gulf Stream crossing to Florida or heading south to the Berrys. If you are here in cooler months this one has a hot tub.

Same island. Different Atmospheres.

Here is the mistake most cruisers make.

They visit a place, love it, forget the details, then two years later they are trying to remember:

Which marina had the best protection?
Where was the easy fuel dock?
Which one has the best facilities?
What were the rates?
What would I choose next time?

That is exactly why I built the Personal Cruising Guide inside the C-Shel Yacht Management System.

You can:
• Store marinas, anchorages, fuel docks, yards
• Add your own notes and real-world experience
• Link weather considerations and seasonal strategy
• Keep it all organized by region
• Build your own decision engine for future trips

Cruising is not just about adventure.
It is about making better decisions every season.

If you are serious about long-term cruising, stop treating your knowledge like disposable memories.

Build your own system.

🎥NEW VIDEO ALERT

In this episode, we sit down with the owners of Asylum, a Kadey Krogen Whaleback with serious long-range intentions. Alaska. Hawaii. Open water. Real miles.

This isn’t a flashy boat tour. It’s a grounded conversation about:
Why they chose a Whaleback
What they’re restoring and why
The realities of preparing a boat for true passagemaking
The mindset required to take a boat that far

There’s something refreshing about talking to cruisers who are still in the process. Just doing the work and aiming big.

Hope you enjoy! Link in the comments. 👇
