Part of me feels bad for recording, but I also donβt know what else I should have been doing. I started recording for lights out and somehow I managed to continue despite being a bit in shock at the car coming toward us.
It was a surreal experience. Zhou was completely unharmed. Hats off to Russell π«Ά
Edit: I wasnβt aware there was some kind of online debate about whether Russell could have returned and why he was retired π. I made the video from my memory in person, but what happened was Russell did try to return (though his car had damage), claiming his car was in working order and he could have restarted the race. But he says the Marshalls took his car and they labelled it as retirement.
Apparently, there is a debate about whether Russellβs car was actually in working order and people claim Russell was trying to bend the rules.
I have no stake in this argument - I just wanted to highlight my understanding that Russell sacrificed his chances of his own race to help Zhou as that was what it seemed to be in person at the time.
