14-9-2026: Aumtsue Peljor Thabrig” – Women’s Banking Initiative, the first-ever women-focused banking product of Bhutan Development Bank Limited (BDBL), was launched in Nganglam, Pema Gatshel, today.

The initiative aimed to enhance women’s access to financial services and strengthen support for women-led enterprises, cooperatives and businesses, particularly those where women play key roles in ownership, management and decision-making. It is expected to create greater opportunities for entrepreneurship, income generation and sustainable livelihoods.

Nganglam Dungkhag Administration expresses appreciation to the Dzongkhag Administration for the support and to BDBL for the collaboration in bringing this important initiative to Nganglam.

8-8-2026: Nganglam Dungkhag had the honour of welcoming the Hon’ble Minister of the Ministry of Industry, Commerce and Employment (MoICE), accompanied by senior officials from the Ministry and its Departments, as part of the nationwide consultation on Business Regulatory Reform.

The consultation brought together local leaders, officials and business representatives to exchange views on the challenges faced by businesses and explore ways to foster a more efficient, transparent and business-friendly regulatory environment. The delegation also visited the Integrated Check Post, Dry Port and tourism development initiatives supported by MoICE, gaining firsthand insight into ongoing activities and the economic and tourism potential of the area.

As part of the visit, the delegation also visited Nyingshing Borang Lhakhang, where they received blessings and paid respects at the sacred site.

Nganglam Dungkhag extends its sincere appreciation to the Hon’ble Minister and the entire MoICE team for the visit, meaningful engagement and continued support towards the growth and development of Pema Gatshel Dzongkhag. The Ministry’s continued support and collaboration are instrumental in strengthening local businesses, promoting tourism and unlocking the wider economic potential of the Dzongkhag.
