As a person with a disability working as a UNV Specialist (National Capacity Development support and inclusion) at UNDP Bhutan, one of my most meaningful moments was getting to interact with different stakeholders and general public. I truly felt heard and respected. Sharing my lived experiences and talking about the realities faced by persons with disabilities reminded me this UNV program matters so much. Their openness and willingness to learn gave me hope that together we can make our systems more inclusive and ensure no one is left behind. It was a moment that touched me deeply and encouraged me to keep advocating with even more heart.
As a person with a disability, this opportunity has meant more than just work experience for me. Your trust, support, and inclusive environment helped me grow and feel valued for my abilities. I am truly grateful for all the respect and encouragement I’ve been receiving from my senior management, manager, supervisor, unit team, and every UNDP Bhutan staff members including our sweepers and security guards.
During the international Volunteer Day, I rededicate myself to serve under the visionary leadership of my senior management alongside with all the inspiring professionals of UNDP Bhutan.
