Meet Kezang Dorji , teacher, singer, and a voice of strength and hope.
This week on Tshangla Shimin, listen to the powerful and emotional story of Kezang Dorji, a teacher and singer whose life journey continues to inspire many.

Kezang Dorji lost his eyesight at the age of 12. He still remembers the painful moment his world turned dark. Depression and anxiety nearly took his life, but through courage, determination, and faith, he found strength to move forward.

His life changed after joining Khaling Muenselling School, where he discovered new purpose and hope. Today, he is a respected teacher and a beloved singer whose songs speak about life, family, love, pain, and everyday experiences.

“Zambulinga meulue rinpoche ,” was composed in 1990 while studying in Class 10 after losing his sister-in-law and niece during the cholera outbreak. The song beautifully reflects the uncertainty of life and the pain of loss.
Over the years, he has composed and sung more than 300 songs that continue to touch hearts across Bhutan.

In 2012, he received a medal from His Majesty, during the 105th National Day celebrations in recognition of his dedication to preserving Bhutanese culture and folk songs.
