One of the convicts involved in the spectacular armed robbery of about P17 million at Sir Seretse Khama International Airport has died. Jeremiah Solomon Modise was sentenced to ten years imprisonment in 2007 after the committing the crime on 06 December 2006.
According to recent information passed to this publication .the convict died few days ago due to I'll health complications.
The deceased was among the fourth South African targeting Fidelity Cash Management resulting in the theft of $800.000 and 80 000 Euros.
During the subsequent police investigation led by detective Richard Bareedi; it was discovered that the deceased had stashed about P10 million in his refrigerator, which was a significant part of the stolen money.
The convict was sentenced to ten years in imprisonment by then principal magistrate Lot Moroka at the Gaborone Village Magistrate court around 2007.
His passing marks the end of a chapter in one if the Botswana s most notorious armed robbery cases which captivated the nationβs attention. He was buried at Phomolong Cemetery in Phakalane this past weekend.
