Mysterious Girl

I thought it was an illusion…
Rub my eyes off the cobwebs.
I slapped myself off the slumber.
I doubt the reality I was seeing.

Perhaps I saw her.
In-fact I saw her…
I don’t know which day it was.
Either a Monday, Wednesday or yesterday…
Did I skip yesterday?

When my eyes got a glimpse of her behind.
Just the behind…
It mesmerized…

I was puzzled…
I wonder which nation she might be from.
She was an African from behind.
A true African women.

Her skin tone, told a different story.
Perhaps God has created a hybrid.
He gave the African pride to a white lady.
My mysterious girl.

I instantly fell in love.
I followed her as she mazes the crowed.
I had no courage to speak.
I am not cute-nor a gentleman.
I lacked the ingredients of winning.
I am just a hopeful guy.
A guy who carries his single manuscript around.
“She won’t gaze at me”-I concluded.

Still I followed her.
I fell in a nap following her.
I had an illusion.
In this illusion…
I held her close to me.
I saw her face, cute it was.
She had a kind of hair I had never seen.
This was my mysterious girl.

Eyes so translucent.
I stared through them aghast.
With a hope I will see through.
I hoped she will run her…
… Her index finger across my lips.
I could already feel her warm lips on mine.
My mysterious girl.

Pity I was in a dream…
I was walking dreaming.
The crowd swallowed her.
It swallowed my mysterious girl.
She was gone.
