The Culture and Entertainment Section of RB 1 is responsible for the general programmes and features cultural themes, music and drama to educate and entertain the public about government programmes.

KGOTLA AUTLWETSE IS LATE - REPORTS

We are deeply saddened to share the news of the passing of Kgotla Autlwetse, the former Minister of Local Government and Rural Development, who reported to have passed on, yesterday evening after a long illness.

Autlwetse was more than a public servant β€” he was a dedicated leader, a pillar in his community, and a man who cared deeply about the lives of ordinary Batswana. His commitment to service and his calm, thoughtful leadership will be remembered by many across the country.

As we mourn his loss, we also honour his legacy and the countless contributions he made to building a better future for all.

Our hearts go out to his family, friends, and all who had the privilege of knowing him.

Rest in peace, Rre Autlwetse. You will be dearly missed.

PRESS RELEASE: DEATH NOTIFICATION OF SERVICE MEMBER
The Botswana Defence Force wishes to inform members of the public about the
unfortunate incident in which a member of the Botswana Defence Force stationed at
SSKB was fatally overrun by a Mobile Gun System, in an accident that happened this
morning at Sir Seretse Khama Barracks. The deceased member was among the Gun
crew that were preparing the guns for a scheduled training program as part of Force
readiness.
Investigations to establish the circumstances surrounding the incident are ongoing.
While the BDF conveys its heartfelt condolences to the family of the deceased and the people of the Republic of Botswana, it withholds the names of the deceased to allow the family the space to privately mourn during this difficult time.

May the soul of the deceased member rest in eternal peace.
