We are calling for 2 x original, compelling proposals from independent Batswana filmmakers for our made-for-TV movies. The objective is to highlight authentic, locally rooted stories that offer an immersive look into Botswana while delivering universally relatable themes (e.g., love, family loyalty, ambition, betrayal, and self-discovery).
• Cultural Authenticity: Stories must feel authentically Batswana, capturing local nuances, idioms, humour, social dynamics, and unique environmental or urban landscapes.
• Narrative Drive: Demonstrate a strong controlling idea and cohesive thematic backbone. Storylines should feature distinct character arcs that directly drive the central conflict.
• Genre & Tone: Drama, Romantic Comedy, Thriller, or Family Drama. The narrative style should bring a unique point of view while respecting standard broadcast pacing. ·
• Age Rating: PG13
Creative Requirements:
• Emotionally resonant and high-relatability stories.
• Must bring a rich understanding of the genre, adhering to the required pace and structure.
• Heighten the Batswana nuances.
• Have high production value for broadcast standards.
Submission Requirements:
• One-page outline
• 3-act-structure overview
• Detailed World of the story and character bios.
• Proposals should be no longer than 5 pages.
• Ensure the proposal speaks to the visual look and feel as well as the tone.

Late or incomplete submissions will not be considered.
