Bank of Botswana Warns Public About Counterfeit P200 Notes

The Bank of Botswana has issued an alert regarding counterfeit P200 banknotes detected in the southern part of the country. The fake notes carry the serial number AA0123456.

The public is urged to be vigilant when accepting cash and to carefully inspect security features such as a watermark, holographic stripe, raised print, purple dots for the visually impaired, and a security thread with “BOB 200”.

Suspicious notes should be reported immediately to the nearest police station or Bank of Botswana offices in Gaborone or Francistown.

Botswana’s radio landscape is being transformed and Gen Z is driving the change. According to Mogasi Consultancy’s Botswana Radio Insights Survey (BRIS) for Q2 2025, young, tech-savvy listeners are no longer just tuning in; they’re shaping content, platforms, and personalities that matter.
With 362 nationwide responses, the survey shows Yarona FM continues to dominate for its high-energy shows and relatable presenters, while Duma FM, RB2, UB Radio, and Radio Botswana each hold unique value across different demographics. Gen Z prefers authenticity, on-demand access, and hybrid listening seamlessly switching between FM, streaming, and social media.
Rising stars like Khumo ‘Soso’ and Kagiso ‘Fox’ Phatsimo are proof that trust and relatability still matter in the digital age. Meanwhile, the growing interest in podcasts and local audio-visual content signals a shift in how Batswana consume stories, news, and culture.
