What an Exciting day! The Parliament of Botswana has officially passed the motion to pass a new Cinematograph Bill (last one being in 1972). This breathes new life and hope in the local film and TV industry as it makes way for a Botswana Film Commission. A lot of work to go, but it is a much needed start.
We are feeling inspired again. After sharing the first part of this series, one thing became even clearer to us. When we talk about Botswana as a film destination, we often default to the obvious. The big, beautiful, internationally recognised landscapes. And rightfully so.
But there’s another layer.
The quieter, often overlooked spaces. The ones that don’t always make the postcards, but carry just as much, if not more cinematic weight. Places where history lingers in the walls, where textures feel untouched, where stories aren’t immediately visible but deeply felt.
