We didn’t grow up seeing ourselves in mainstream fantasy. When we appeared in films, shows, and books, it often felt like we were placed inside someone else’s story, reduced to quotas, side roles, or fleeting moments. That absence, that quiet erasure, stayed with us… until we chose to change it. So we created something rooted, powerful, and unapologetically ours: a Black fantasy story, for us and by us. Urithi: Institute of Mystical Science is not just a journey into a 10,000-year-old institution hidden deep within the Congo Basin; it is a reclamation of imagination, a bold declaration of presence, and a movement reshaping who gets to exist at the heart of fantasy and how our stories are finally told.

Support the phenomenon by Pre-ordering your copy of Urithi, and get your Urithi merchandise at panafricanlifestyle.com.
