In a case that has sent shockwaves across the nation, a 28-year-old man accused of being found in possession of suspected human flesh was today brought before the Francistown Magistrate Court.

Nyasha Mugodzeri, a resident of Shashemooke, was arrested by police on Sunday following a tip-off that led to his apprehension.

Appearing before court, the State revealed that the charge currently facing Mugodzeri is only a holding charge, as investigations into the disturbing case are still underway.

According to the allegations presented, the suspected human flesh found in his possession is believed to be male genitalia.

Mugodzeri is also facing a separate charge of entering the country illegally.

When given an opportunity to address the court, Mugodzeri pleaded for bail, assuring the court that he would not abscond.

The court is expected to deliver its ruling on his bail application on Friday.
