Water Utilities Corporation (WUC) has dismissed as false and misleading reports claiming that there has been an irregular inflation of P40 billion in projects constructed by the parastatal under the NDP 11.

Several projects have been listed as having been inflated by WUC with some going up as 100%. According to insiders the malicious report was orchestrated by one of the former disgruntled employee.

The claim was further confirmed by WUC revealing that in its investigations it has established the source of the report.

According to the parastatal the author behind the fabricated report is a disgruntled former senior executive officer whom at some point was subjected to another senior executive position interview, which he failed and was dropped.

The former employee would then go on to claim that he was fired.

โ€œThe so called variations are not direct works variation but they are consumer Price Adjustment CPA). This project were done during covid.โ€

โ€œWUC is a government parastatal and has no business with any individual political partyโ€, said WUC in response to claims of having financed the BDP.

Below we share a comparison of the former employeeโ€™s report and the report obtained from WUC.

Transport operators have taken their fight to the Lobatse High Court, warning that planned developments at the Gaborone bus rank could paralyse their operations and threaten their livelihoods.

The operators rushed to court after learning that a developer, Silver Pack Investment, will soon commence works at the bus rank to construct a double-storey parking facility where combis are currently parking at the bus rank, without first explaining what would happen to buses, combis and taxis that currently load and offload there under valid, time-stamped permits.
