He was only 8 years old when the woman sexually violated him now at 31, he has never told his family. He vehemently challenges the myth that boys are safe from abuse. His greatest fear is how many other boys suffer silently. He even suggests some men labelled rapists may themselves be abuse survivors.

Permanent Secretary to the President (PSP), Emma Peloetletse, has revealed that government has identified and removed several ghost employees from the public service payroll. She said efforts are ongoing to clamp down on issues of ghost workers and overpayments.

Peloetletse explained that decentralisation of the public service is expected to help address the problem more effectively, as the current centralised system makes it difficult to track and deal with culprits at the local level.

Permanent Secretary to the President (PSP), Emma Peloetletse, told the Public Accounts Committee (PAC) that overtime for top civil servants has not been reduced. She explained that there are two types of overtime, one of which is committed overtime a category determined through negotiations based on specific criteria.

Peloetletse noted that some senior officials work extended hours due to the nature of their duties, adding that the current arrangement follows a Cabinet directive that considers the responsibilities of different roles.

However, PAC members criticised the approach, arguing that while senior officials continue to benefit from overtime, lower-level employees have had their overtime benefits cut. When asked whether she believed the situation was fair, Peloetletse simply reserved her comment.

Permanent Secretary to the President (PSP), Emma Peloetletse, has revealed that service providers often inflate their prices when dealing with government, citing delayed payments that negatively impact their operations. She said some suppliers are even forced to take out loans to deliver on contracts. Peloetletse added that government’s insistence on top-quality goods and services also contributes to higher costs.

She noted that to address this, government has established price guides to prevent excessive mark-ups. Additionally, she announced that e-procurement will soon be introduced to reduce human error and eliminate human interference in the tendering process.

Permanent Secretary to the President, Emma Peloetletse, has told the Public Accounts Committee (PAC) that she is aware of the more than 600 cases from the public service lodged with the Ombudsman’s office in the year under review. She stated that efforts are being made to resolve the issues, despite concerns from the PAC that the Ombudsman continues to report reluctance by accounting officers to implement its recommendations.
