BOTSWANA SHINES IN HARARE 🇧🇼🥋

Team Botswana put in a solid shift at the WKF Youth League in Harare, walking away with a medal haul across multiple categories.

Chris Kgosi led the way with a gold medal in Boys U14 Kata, a big moment for Botswana karate.

The team added four bronzes through Sandra Liu (Girls 16–17 Kata), Franklin Mohlabi (Boys 16–17 Kumite -76kg), Bokao Ranngogo (Boys 14–15 Kumite -63kg) and Leitch Michelle (Girls U14 Kumite -47kg).

A strong outing overall, with Botswana showing depth and growth on the international stage. 🇧🇼

TABLE TENNIS ANNOUNCES U19 TEAM FOR SOUTH AFRICA TOURNAMENT

The Botswana Table Tennis Association (BTTA) has selected its Under-19 team following weekend trials, ahead of the upcoming tournament in South Africa.

The team will compete at the 4th Annual Sports Event Table Tennis Tournament scheduled for 04–05 April 2026 at the Quest Conference Estate.

BOTSWANA ATHLETICS NATIONAL CHAMPIONSHIPS SET FOR GABORONE

The Botswana Athletics National Championships 2026 are set to take centre stage from 3–5 April 2026 at the National Stadium in Gaborone.

A total of 95 titles will be contested over three days, bringing together athletes from U18, U20 and Senior categories in what is the country’s premier athletics event.

Following a competitive track and field season, athletes now shift focus to the championships where national honours, records and selection opportunities will be on the line.

The event is expected to showcase Botswana’s top talent, while also providing a platform for emerging athletes to make their mark.

POLICE, YAROS AND BDF LEAD NVL WEEK 3 ACTION

Week 3 of the National Volleyball League delivered exciting matches across Tlokweng and Serowe, with several teams making strong statements.

In the men’s games, Police VI came from a set down to beat Spiking Stars 3-1, while Kalavango edged Itekeng 3-2 in a tight contest. Earlier, Prisons VI had defeated Kalavango 3-1, but later fell 3-1 to Yaros. In Serowe, BDF VI and Sebokeng both recorded straight-set wins over Sebokeng and Motlakase respectively.

In the women’s division, BDF VI dominated in Serowe with back-to-back 3-0 wins over Sebokeng and Mag Stimela. At Royal Aria, Spiking Stars also impressed with a 3-0 victory over Kalavango.

With competitive matches across both venues, the league continues to build momentum as teams push for early advantage.

BOTSWANA SET TO HOST ITF WORLD TENNIS TOUR JUNIORS EVENTS

The Botswana Tennis Association will host the ITF World Tennis Tour Juniors J30 and J60 tournaments in Gaborone this April, as the country continues to position itself as a hub for international junior tennis.

The J30 event is scheduled for 6–11 April, followed by the J60 tournament from 13–18 April, both to be held at the National Tennis Centre.

Junior players from across the world are already intensifying preparations ahead of the tournaments, which are expected to attract strong international competition and provide valuable ranking points on the ITF circuit.

The events also present an opportunity for local players to compete against global talent on home soil. 🇧🇼🎾

BOTSWANA TO HOST 4 NATIONS TOURNAMENT

Botswana will host the Mukuru 4 Nations Tournament from 28–31 March 2026 at Obed Itani Chilume Stadium in Francistown, bringing together Malawi, Zambia and Zimbabwe for a regional football showcase.

Head coach Morena Ramoreboli has named a 26-man squad for the tournament, blending experience and in-form players from the domestic league and abroad.

The squad features goalkeepers Thabo Motswagole, Cedric Ramojela and Goitseone Phoko, while the defensive unit includes Larona Modisaemang, Thabo Babusi, Tebogo Kopelang, Ricky Ratlhogo, Thato Mosweunyane, Utlwang Ramakgathi, Tlamelo Kolagano, Botsile Sakana and Floyd Motheo.

In midfield, Botswana will rely on Kamogelo Moloi, Philip Kaku, Theo Shadikong, Monty Enosa, Nonofelo Dikutu, Omphile Ramaogi and Keitumetse Samunzala, while the attacking options include Boikobo Matakule, Losika Ratshukudu, Kgotso Radithongwa, Tshepo Keselebale, Godfrey Tauyatswala, Eric Ookame and Oarabile Sekwai.

A blockbuster encounter is on the cards this afternoon at GU Stadium, where Gaborone United FC host fierce city rivals Township Rollers FC in a highly anticipated Category A clash.
