60 YEARS OF GRACE, RESILIENCE, AND PROGRESS! 🇧🇼✨
Botswana’s 60th Independence Anniversary, let us pause, reflect, and take immense pride in how far we have come.
On September 30, 1966, when the Union Jack was lowered and our blue, black, and white flag was raised, many looked at Bechuanaland and saw very little hope.
We were listed among the poorest nations in the world, with less than 12 kilometers of paved road, vast stretches of dry land, and very few resources.
But they did not know the spirit of a Motswana.
Driven by the wisdom of our forefathers, the warmth of the Kgotla, and the unshakeable foundation of Botho, we defied the odds. We transformed dusty roads into thriving modern networks, built schools and hospitals, and turned our resources into a beacon of stability, democracy, and prosperity across the continent.
Our journey over the last six decades proves one timeless truth: our greatest wealth has never been underneath our soil—it is in our unity.
As we fly our colors high this year, let this Diamond Jubilee be a reminder that our story is far from over. We face new modern challenges, but we carry the same resilient blood of those who built this nation from nothing. Let us remain united, guard our peace fiercely, support one another, and build a brighter tomorrow for future generations.
Differing views may exist, but we remain One Nation, One People.
P**a! 🌧️ P**a! 🌧️ P**a! 🇧🇼
