Another BDP Counselor dies.

Nlaphwane/Mapoka/Kgari ward BDP Counselor Farai Bonyongo has passed on. Bonyongo was voted chair of NEDC. He is said to have succumbed to a non-stopping severe headache and abnormal intestinal evacuations. The late counselor was also a Pastor.

COVID-19 VACCINE NO LONGER MANDATORY AT THE BORDERS

The Ministry of Health and Wellness has decided to vacate and set aside its decision to make the COVID-19 vaccine mandatory at the borders. The decision subsequently came with a lot of repercussions some of which were detrimental to the economy. It was reported that a lot of potential tourists who had planned to visit the country had to cancel their flight/hotel bookings upon hearing that they should be fully vaccinated or would be required to vaccinate at the border if they are not.And failure of compliance would then lead to punitive fines. Reportedly, the tourism industry lost about P2million in two weeks. Also, the ministry has been dragged to courts thanks to the erstwhile decision.Going forward, persons will be allowed to cross the border using valid PCR results or alternatively producing a card showing that one is fully vaccinated.
