Newly crowned Diamond League king, Collen Busang Kebinatshipi enters the 400m race at the inaugural World Athletics Ultimate Championship in Budapest, Hungary, from September 11โ€“13th, as the man to beat.
Each of the winners at the World Athletics Ultimate Championship will walk away with a US$150,000 prize, from the cumulative mouth-watering US$10 million prize kitty for the inaugural championship.

Last week Kebinatshipi confirmed global dominance in the 400m by smashing the Diamond League record with a blistering 43.40 seconds in the finals in Brussels. He is now joint-5th fastest 400m runner of all time! Hii 43.40s at the Brussels Diamond League puts him alongside Quincy Hall of the US on the all-time list, behind the likes of Wayde van Niekerk and Michael Johnson of the US.

Kebinatshipi carries Botswanaโ€™s hopes into a ruthless championship reserved for the worldโ€™s finest Olympic champions, world champions, Diamond League winners and highest-ranked athletes. His scintillating form has convinced many pundits that the 400m World Record of 43.03s, set by South African Wayde van Niekerk 10 years ago on August 14, 2016 during the Rio Olympics, is seriously under threat.

BDP WON'T SUPPORT BALOPI DURING COURT APPEARANCE - RAMMIDI

- Members not expected to wear party regalia but can personally go and show support to their president

" The BDP Central Committee has taken a resolution that BDP will not support Balopi at court and members are not expected to wear party regalia. However, members can personally go and show their support either on brotherhood or sisterhood to Balopi. We don't want the party to be entangled in this issue," BDP Secretary General Kentse Rammidi said.

Balopi is expected to appear in court on 16th September, 2026 facing corruption and money laundering charges.

"We are still processing the matter regarding president Balopi' s corruption charges. The central committee met yesterday and it has concluded that we don't have enough material to reach logical conclusion.
