Four death row inmates appeal judgements were handed down yesterday at the Court of Appeal.

From the four men being Ramotswiri Mokobela, Unangoni Alton, Simba Mampori and Passmore Moyo, who were faced with ultimate punishment of death penalty, two of them succeeded in their appeal, while two lost their appeal to death penalty.

Ramotswiri Mokobela was sentenced to death in 2023 for ra**ng and killing a 5 year old girl.

Unangoni Alton was sentenced for killing his girlfriend Kefilwe Mogorosi by slitting her throat in October 2012.

Simba Mampori was also sentenced for killing his girlfriend by stabbing her 12 times in 2019.

Passmore Moyo was sentenced to death in 2022 for killing his lover Mosianeemang Motswagole in 2018.

We unpack the judgements and explore the legal arguments, the justice system and the fate of those who stood for trial for their lives.

Gaborone Dam spills into Tlokweng causing havoc. Floodwater from Gaborone Dam rose to encroach parts of Tlokweng wards such as Sefhoke and Botshabelo Ward, forcing to close Tlokweng entrances, being Jamal road, Village road and part of River road.

Some Residents had to be evacuated from their home as the situation posed danger to their well being.

This is an update on the current situation and tactics put in place to further help the situation.

The Court of Appeal is set to determine whether the High Court had the authority to overturn its ruling in the case of former Permanent Secretary to the President, Carter Morupisi.
