Dr Lame Pusetso
Dr. Lame Pusetso is a 26-year-old woman from Hukuntsi District who has over the years earned herself the name 'Poeticblood' through her outstanding and sterling work in the creative industry and winning spoken word performances both locally and internationally. She has performed in local presidential and constituency competitions, where she has always emerged victorious and done well. Poeticblood, as she is commonly known, has attended festivals in Uganda and Zambia where she was performing and also serving as a panelist on matters affecting African literature and ways of improving it. She has performed across SADC countries and shared her insights on protecting and nurturing African literature. Dr. Pusetso is a poet, an inspirational speaker, a writing consultant, and the multi-award-winning author of 15 books to her name. The talented young dynamite is the managing director of an award-winning publishing company, Poeticblood Publishers , and the president of the Botswana Literature Awards, which aims at appreciating authors and encouraging the young ones to never give up on their dreams of telling African history as it is.
She is also the owner of an online bookstore called Mind and Soul Bookstores, which in her quest helps authors with the distribution of their work and bridges gaps between nations by finding ways to make it easier for them to share their books.
Dr. Pusetso has over the years made an impact both locally and internationally through her writing skills by raising young authors and publishing over 300 books. She is a registered member of the National Writers Association of South Africa (NWASA) and the external coordinator for the Explorers of Literature Cohort at BUAN. Dr. Pusetso is the recipient of several international awards for authorship and performance in her capacity as a writer and poet.
She attained the first-runner-up position in the FNBB Foundation Bodiragatsi Jwame, Lentswe Lame Arts competition under the poetry category.
Dr. Pusetso, through her company, will be hosting the Botswana Literature Awards on April 28, 2023, in Gaborone, which is aimed at celebrating local talented authors and writers.
She is also a delegate for the Forbes 30 Under 30 Africa Summit 2023, which will be held in Gaborone, Botswana.
