A quiet force in Botswana’s music industry, Tex Ramogobya is a man whose impact speaks louder than recognition. Known for staying away from the spotlight, his contribution runs deep far beyond what is publicly documented.
Before establishing Kalakuta Records, he played a role in the growth of notable acts such as Vee, Matsieng, Kganka, and Machesa laying foundations that would shape the local sound.
Through Kalakuta Records, he went on to introduce and nurture talent including Deben Natal, Sua Pan, Mosokola, Motsosangwao, Baloi, and Dr Vom.
Most notably, he is the driving force behind the release of Tsaya Thobane by Dr Vom,a song that has become a national anthem. For over two decades, it has echoed through stadiums, celebrations, and moments of national pride, uniting Batswana across generations.
His work did not just shape music it shaped culture.
A legacy built not on noise, but on undeniable impact.
