Dr_Vom, formally known as Vomit, made waves in the local music scene with his debut album Matsidiso. The project quickly became a household favorite, cementing his presence as a fresh voice in Botswana’s entertainment landscape.

But his true breakthrough came in November 2007 with the release of Vomit vs. Diparo, the album that featured his smash hit “Tsaya Thobane.” The track became a cultural phenomenon, turning Dr. Vom into an overnight success and rewriting his story in music.

“Tsaya Thobane” wasn’t just another party anthem—it was a unifier. From churches to political rallies, from football stadiums to family gatherings, the song resonated across all walks of life. Athletes, politicians, and everyday people alike embraced the rhythm, and for a moment, the entire nation seemed to move to the same beat.

Now 48 years old, the Dikhwaere musician continues to carry the legacy of a song that defined an era and placed him firmly in Botswana’s musical history.
