GOVERNMENT NOT APPROVING PERMITS FOR FOREIGN TEACHERS

The government of Botswana has made a significant decision not to approve work permits for foreign teachers, as the country has produced enough teachers over the years, some of whom remain unemployed.

On Wednesday morning, the Minister of Labour and Home Affairs, Major General (Rtd) Pius Mokgware, made a significant announcement on the local private radio station, Duma FM.

He revealed that the government of Botswana has decided not to approve work permits for foreign teachers, a decision that will have a profound impact on the education sector.

This marks a significant shift from the past, when Botswana often relied on foreign teachers to fill the gaps in its education system.
