POOR FOOD SAFETY PRINCIPLES LEAD TO TEMPORARY SHUTDOWN OF FOURS BAKERY.

• Various food Items Confiscated and disposed in line with the Public Health & Food Control Acts

Dabsky Pty ltd trading as Fours Bakery has been charged for engaging employees without a valid certificate of fitness as well as operating in unhygienic premises. The business premises in Gaborone West industrial were inspected and compliance defaults were discovered. Food items in the premises were confiscated and condemned for destruction and disposal. The items included 4800 loaves of bread, 4800 hotdog rolls, 2700 buns and 1024 screw buns.

CIPA's recent destruction of counterfeit products aims to protect consumers and uphold intellectual property rights. However, many local entrepreneurs rely on selling these goods to make a living. It's concerning that some foreign traders, who may not contribute to our tax system, continue to sell similar counterfeit items without facing the same consequences.
