Last week I was part of something really special in Botswana We held a 2-day HIV Cure Agenda Setting Workshop organized by Havard Partnership to ask these questions.....What should HIV cure research look like in Botswana, for Batswana, by Batswana?

For the first time communities, youth, researchers, and funders in one room to plan the next 5 years.

3 big things we heard:
1. Include us - Communities and youth want to be partners from day 1, not just hear results later
2. Speak our language - Break down the science. No more big jargon. Everyone deserves to understand
3. Fund our own research - We need Botswana to invest so we can lead this work

As Mothers Living With Hiv,, We work with adolescents and young adults who started HIV treatment as babies. We’re trying to understand why the virus hides in the body even when tests show "undetectable", and how the immune system can help.

The message from people living with HIV was clear: take this conversation to rural areas too.

This is just the start. No national HIV cure agenda exists yet in Botswana, but we’re building it together.

Fact: HIV stigma can make disclosure very difficult, but honest conversations matter in relationships. A person living with HIV who takes treatment and maintains an undetectable viral load does not sexually transmit HIV — U=U: Undetectable = Untransmittable.

O bona issue ya gore PLWHIV now gets medication weekly g*e njese diwelang hoo hang,some people baa pagama to go for refills so ke ipotsa gore when they are given refills only for a week are we not creating an already existing problem yaho defaulter caz taabo ba sena madi ago pagama every week?? Just thinking......

Yes we acknowledge that the Goverment is doing all in their power to procure medication for its people,but it feels like we are solving a problem by creating even a bigger 1🤔
