Occasionally dabble in other genres. I am a wildlife phtoographer and educator from Barrie, Canada. I have a deep concern and passion for the natural world and aim to inspire others to protect it through my art work. You'll see a wide range of wildlife images from around the world, and on occasion images from other genres. You'll also see the odd video clip as well as related educational content. Once an educator always an educator!

Hi everyone,

I hope you're all doing well. If you live in parts of North America, I hope you're all surviving the scary weather we've been experiencing of late related to the forest fires in Canada. This is sadly something that is becoming quite common during our summer season due to the increasing impacts of climate change and poor natural resource management.

I will be taking some time off from social media for the next few weeks in order to have a much needed rest and to spend some time with family as well. I will also be keeping my eyes open for anything interesting to photograph and will share anything following.

For now, I will leave you with a special image of a ring-tailed lemur that I photographed in Madagascar. They are a real challenge to work with given their rapid movement and often dense terrain that they are found in. Fortunately, this one posed just long to be able to capture this moment. It's not often that you find clean backgrounds like this when photographing lemurs.

I look forward to connecting again later in August and will be announcing some exciting new destinations on my schedule for 2027 in the fall.

Keep well.

Good morning everyone!

Here's another brand new moose image from my recently concluded trip to Algonquin Provincial Park here in Ontario, Canada.

While most of the best moose photography in the area is off the main highway, there are occasional moments when one gets a good opportunity to compose at least a reasonably good image from the highway itself.

On this occasion, this female was spotted near the opposite side of the highway enjoying dinner. We quietly pulled over, stopped the car, and I then proceeded to capture this image right from the driver's seat without ever even leaving the car. The moose paid no attention to us and didn't leave until a another car came by and scared it off.

Always keep your eyes open for wildlife and try to cause as little disturbance as possible.

Scanning the Horizon.

Every image has a story. In this particular case, a love triangle was occurring. A third ostrich(female not featured), was in the area and disrupting the mating ritual proceedings of this couple. The male had to chase her off. When he was finally successful in doing so, the 'business at hand' was able to occur and I got to be a spectator to the full mating ritual. Truly special!

Nature often has something to offer if we're paying attention and have a bit of luck on our side.

Rare Sighting!

Happy Sunday everyone.

Here's a very special animal, the radiated tortoise. This animal is hard to find as it's classified as critically endangered due to habitat loss and poaching. I was fortunate enough to see several on my last trip to Madagascar in the southern regions of the country.

I spent about an hour slithering around on my belly during the middle of the day. As I wasn't of particular interest(or concern) to my subjects, they spent this time going about their daily lives. Once again patience was required to be able to capture this moment.

Good morning everyone!

Anyone feel like doing some yoga to start their day, or perhaps at least a few stretches?

This African penguin, photographed in South Africa, certainly was thinking along these lines.

Have a great Friday team.
