Recreation Groups: Your Voice Is Needed in Northwest B.C. Land-Use Planning by July 25

The Province of B.C. and several First Nations are launching four major land-use planning initiatives in the northwest over the next year, covering 16 million hectares near the Alaska and Yukon borders. These plans will shape the future of conservation, access, tourism, and recreation for years to come.

Public engagement is open now until July 25, 2025.

Why this matters for recreation:
✅ Determines where trails and huts can go
✅ Influences access to recreation areas
✅ Helps balance recreation with conservation and development
✅ Ensures outdoor opportunities are valued alongside other land uses

This is a rare opportunity for recreation groups to help shape how B.C.’s wild northwest is used and protected. There's only a bit of time left - don’t miss your chance to be heard.
