Instead of chasing stories and photos in vast urban centers, she chose the sprawling lakes and terrain of wild places. Although her focus is often shifted towards fishing, Alyssa covers everything and anything in the outdoors including; paddling, hunting, tourism and even real estate.

I volunteered for Ontario Women Anglers (OWA) over 10 years ago and since then have met some of my closest friends through the group. I can’t speak highly enough of these women and their Founder. If you’ve been on the fence but you’re able to make a 2026 event of theirs, you should absolutely do it.

Every year the Sportsmen Show is inching back to how I remember it as a kid. Almost 80 years this show has brought young and old outdoorsmen and women together in one fantastic exhibit of our sporting world.
