Iceland, the land of fire and ice 🔥🧊 but beyond that lies a hidden gem… fall colours 😍 Everyone says Iceland only has two seasons, but autumn’s brief appearance is absolutely stunning!

A surreal evening at ✨🚠 Seeing the at night felt magical. This was my second ride up, but seeing the sunset and with all the lights? Unreal😍

Huge shoutout to our tour guide Leighton for such a fun, memorable experience… especially since he makes a great model 😜

Growing up, I can recall exactly one fleeting moment of seeing the aurora. Ever since, I dreamed of seeing them in full force.
It wasn’t until I moved to Alberta that it finally happened — and in the last 5 years, I’ve seen them so many times I’ve lost count.

I’ll forever get giddy like a little kid when they appear, and I’ll always find it worth losing sleep ✨💕

📍First & last shots: Lake Minnewanka
📍Second & third: near Mînî Thnî First Nations settlement, on the drive back to Calgary

How many aurora photos is too many? I’ve got a bunch all from the same night and want to post them all 😆

Also PSA: The northern lights are not an excuse to park in the roadway!!! Go find a parking spot, even if that means needing to walk a bit.

2025 recap, not me leaving it so late 😂

January
Starting the year strong — winter hikes, my first time cross-country skiing, and a Revelstoke adventure ❄️

February
Really felt the winter blues.
I Attempted a better crate setup for Willow… she escaped by day two.

March
DIY season in full swing, lots of time spent at the dog park, and a Drumheller escape to beat the winter blues

April
Moose sightings in a Calgary park 🫎
Easter with my parents and sister for the first time in 5 years 🐣
Finished my first reupholstery project (red chair = before)

May
Two weekends of camping 🏕️
Biking to Moraine Lake with Willow in tow 🚲
Back to Ontario for a friend’s wedding 💍

June
Hikes with lots of doggos, early morning walks enjoying longer days, baking with garden-grown rhubarb and back to Ontario for a cousins wedding.

July
Making the best of a very rainy month — rainbows everywhere 🌈 And wildflowers in full bloom on Healy Pass 🌼

August
A hiking-filled redemption after July’s rain:
Rockbound Lake, The Onion, Crypt Lake
…and celebrating my 30th 🎉 And enjoyed the Kananaskis Nordic Spa with my sister.

September
Tons of larch season magic, checked off Galatea Lake, and had my Mom and Dad visit

October
Willow turned three 🎂 hiked Rae Glacier and made a second Yamnuska attempt — turned around at the chains because I had Willow this time.

November
Squamish, hiking, skiing, and skating with Faith, as well as a new DIY project: Christmas miniatures (including a working snow globe under 2 inches)

December
Enjoyed sunsets, Christmas baking, and headed back to Ontario for the holidays 🎄

Hi 👋🏼 I’m Steph, and if you know me… you also know I take an excessively long time to reply to texts.
Another thing I’m painfully slow at? Editing photos.
These are from early November because apparently my hobby is procrastination.

Using every last drop of daylight in Howe Sound. Where the land fades, the sea rises, and the night begins. A Straight & Narrow in hand, good friends and all around good vibes to end the day.

Willow looked at the chain section thinking “Mom I'm a mountain goat in training but this is crazy.” Too sketchy for her to cross alone, and no way I could carry her while crossing them.
