Time leaves its markโ€ฆ but it doesnโ€™t have to erase the memory. ๐Ÿค
This photograph was deeply creased, torn, and worn from decades of life. The damage was through the faces and fine details.
In order to restore it, we:
โ€ข Repaired tears and fold lines
โ€ข Rebuilt damaged facial features
โ€ข Restored contrast and clarity
โ€ข Preserved the original vintage warmth
โ€ข Brought the people โ€” and their story โ€” back into focus
The goal is never to change historyโ€ฆ itโ€™s to honour it.
There is something special we feel after seeing a photo we were able to restore be brought back to life. โœจ

A small portrait with a lot of life in it.
This early 1900s photograph came to us faded, stained, and losing detail โ€” but the expression (and that puppy) were still there.
โœ”๏ธCareful tonal correction, โœ”๏ธsurface repair, โœ”๏ธenhancement and โœ”๏ธcontrast work brought it back without changing its age or character.
We donโ€™t modernize history.
We preserve it.

This 1930s publicity photograph of Julia Sanderson and Frank Crumit aka โ€œThe Singing Sweethearts of the Airโ€ was heavily damaged.
Instead of letting it fade away, we used it as a restoration demonstration โ€” to show whatโ€™s still possible, even when an image looks beyond saving.
Old photos hold more than paper and ink. They hold stories and memories.

At 25 and Gold Creative Studio, we love sharing historical treasures that we come across. We thought this Victorian button pin from 1898, was such an interesting part of photographic history.
