On November 12, 2025, members of the Bathurst Police Force responded to a theft complaint at a local jewelry store, where a suspect had stolen approximately $30,000 worth of jewelry.
Following a prompt investigation, the suspect was identified and arrested the same day by members of the Bathurst Police Force. Police were also able to recover the majority of the stolen items.
On November 13, 2025, 48-year-old Peter Van Allen appeared in Provincial Court and was charged with Theft Over $5,000, Obstruction, and four counts of Breach of Probation. He was remanded into custody and is scheduled to appear at a later date for a bail hearing.

Le 13 novembre 2025, Peter Van Allen, âgé de 48 ans, est comparu devant la Cour provinciale et a été accusé de vol de plus de 5 000 $, d’entrave à la justice et de quatre violations de probation. Il a été détenu en attendant sa comparution ultérieure pour une audience sur la mise en liberté sous caution.
